Marine Type I collagen peptide is produced from fish scales recovered at landing centres along the Coromandel coast. Scales are washed, demineralised to remove the hydroxyapatite fraction, then subjected to controlled enzymatic hydrolysis and membrane fractionation to reach a defined molecular weight distribution, before concentration and spray drying.
Type I is the dominant structural collagen in skin, bone, tendon and connective tissue, and is the form specified across the nutraceutical and cosmetic sectors. Marine-derived peptides are typically smaller than bovine peptides, which supports faster absorption — and marine origin avoids the dietary constraints that limit bovine and porcine collagen across much of the Indian market.
